You will travel through Kigali city on your safari to the Volcanoes National Park to experience golden monkey trekking. Then you’ll go on a thrilling border crossing journey to southwest Uganda, where you’ll enjoy another breathtaking gorilla encounter in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.

Day 1: Pick-up from Kigali and transfer to Volcanoes National Park

The driver-guide will take you up from your specified location or the Kigali airport and drive you to the Kigali city to the genocide memorial grounds. After you shall be transferred to Uganda through the Katuna boarder heading to Bwindi impenetrable forest national park getting ready to check in your accommodation for refreshment, prepare for dinner and overnight stay.

Main Destination: Bwindi impenetrable forest national park

Accommodation: Broad bill eco lodge

Day 2: Gorilla trekking and transfer back to accommodation

Enjoy an early breakfast, then proceed to the briefing point for the highlight of your trip – gorilla trekking. It can last from 2 to 6 hours, depending on the group you are visiting. We trek through the rainforest and bamboo-covered slopes, accompanied by an Uganda Wildlife Authority guide and other trackers in search of a mountain gorilla family. The walking can sometimes be tough and long, but when you catch a glimpse of the magnificent silverback, any discomforts will be quickly forgotten. Due to the nature of the activity, you will have a packed lunch. Afterwards the porters will carry you with your packed lunch and you small bag if any.

Day 3: Gorilla trekking and transfer to Lake Bunyonyi

Enjoy an early breakfast, then proceed to the briefing point for the highlight of your trip – gorilla trekking. It can last from 2 to 6 hours, depending on the group you are visiting. We trek through the rainforest and bamboo-covered slopes, accompanied by an Uganda Wildlife Authority guide and other trackers in search of a mountain gorilla family. The walking can sometimes be tough and long, but when you catch a glimpse of the magnificent silverback, any discomforts will be quickly forgotten. Due to the nature of the activity, you will have a packed lunch. Afterward, you will drive through the terraced hills to Lake Bunyonyi.

Besides canoeing, there is a short list of optional activities like swimming (safe in this lake) and hiking on some of the island trails along the lakeshores. You can also go on community walks and meet the local people while listening to the small resident and exotic bird species singing. You will head for dinner and overnight at Bunyonyi Rock Resort.

Day 4: Transfer back to Kigali

After breakfast, check out of the lodge and transfer to cross the border to Rwanda. You will transfer to Kigali city with the memory of the great, rare mountain apes. Enjoy an en-route lunch, and arrive late in the evening to be dropped off at your hotel or the airport as you say farewell to the “Pearl of Africa”.
