Rwanda Gorilla Safaris are a great way to explore Rwanda the land of a thousand hills. The small landlocked country lies in the Great Lakes region and has over the years become a leading tourist destination. The 6 days and 5 nights safari explore, Rwanda’s Volcanoes National Park for gorilla and golden monkey tracking and a night at Lake Kivu before heading back to Kigali and exit.
Day 1- Arrive at Kigali International Airport
Meet and Greet by your Safari guide who will pick you up and transfer you from the airport and head to the Hotel in Kigali for -/+20 minutes. you will go through the briefing about your trip to Rwanda.

Day 2- To Volcanoes National Park
Begin with an evocative visit to the Kigali Genocide Memorial. Next, drive north to Volcanoes National Park. It is a bio-diverse rainforest covering mountains that are part Virunga Ranges. It is a hot spot for gorilla tracking and golden monkeys. Arrive at the lodge, a hide out in Kinigi and enjoy the afternoon at leisure to enjoy your surroundings.

Day 3- Gorilla tracking
Drive to Volcanoes National Park headquarters to join your gorilla trekking group. With help from your park guide, traverse the dense forest until you come face-to-face with a local gorilla family. Observe them as they play, forage, and rest in the shade of the trees. You are given one hour to spend in the presence of these magnificent animals.

Day 4- Golden Monkey Tracking and cultural experience
Spend a morning trekking to find the golden monkeys in the Volcanoes National Park. These endangered monkeys are endemic to the Albertine Rift area and are characterised by their golden-orange fur. You’ll be able to enjoy an hour watching them jump through the bamboo and hunker down to chew bamboo leaves, curiously watching you, as you watch them. In the afternoon after golden monkey tracking we shall have an option to visit the Iby’Iwachu cultural centre.

Day 5- To Lake Kivu
As you travel south today, the forests and volcanoes of Musanze give way to stunning views over Lake Kivu and its islands, stretching as far as the Democratic Republic of Congo. It’s not a long drive – around 2 hours – but with the flexibility to choose where and when you stop, you can spend as long as you like taking photographs or just revelling in the scenery before arriving at the hotel, overlooking the lake. Refresh, and later have a cruise on the lake in the evening.

Day 6- Back to Kigali and exit
Today, wake up, have breakfast and head to Kigali. Your guide will drop you at the airport for your exit after a tour of Kigali.
