Overview
This 4-day safari offers a thrilling primate experience in southwestern Uganda. Track endangered mountain gorillas in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, then unwind by the scenic Lake Mutanda. Continue to Mgahinga Gorilla National Park for golden monkey tracking before returning to Entebbe. Day 1: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park
Your guide will pick you up early in the morning from Entebbe or Kampala and brief you on the safari. Begin your journey to the southwestern part of Uganda, home to the majestic Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. Enjoy scenic views along the way including rolling hills, traditional homesteads, and fertile plantations. Lunch will be enjoyed en route in Mbarara or Kabale town. You will arrive at your lodge near Bwindi in the evening for dinner and overnight stay as you prepare for the next day’s exciting gorilla trek.

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi and Transfer to Lake Mutanda
After an early breakfast, head to the park headquarters for a briefing by park rangers before starting your gorilla trekking adventure. The trek through the dense jungle can take between 2 to 6 hours depending on the location of the gorillas. Once you find them, you will be allowed one hour to observe and photograph these incredible creatures in their natural habitat. After the trek, return to the lodge for lunch and freshening up before proceeding to Lake Mutanda. Settle in for a relaxed evening at the lake as you take in the scenic beauty of the Virunga volcanoes.

Day 3: Golden Monkey Tracking in Mgahinga Gorilla National Park
After an early breakfast, drive to Mgahinga Gorilla National Park where you will be briefed before beginning the golden monkey tracking experience. This unique activity takes you through the bamboo forests on the slopes of the Virunga Volcanoes in search of the rare and energetic golden monkeys. Once located, you will spend an hour observing and photographing them as they leap through the forest canopy. After the tracking, you may return to the lodge and enjoy optional activities such as a canoe ride on Lake Mutanda or a nature walk.

Day 4: Departure -Transfer to Entebbe International Airport
Enjoy an early breakfast before checking out. Begin your return journey to Entebbe with lunch en route and a stop at the equator for photos and souvenir shopping. You will arrive in the evening and be dropped off at Entebbe International Airport in time for your departure flight.
