Overview

This gorilla safari starts in Rwanda where you will visit the Kigali Genocide Memorial Center and other places within the city. Then you will proceed to Nyungwe Forest N/P for canopy walk and chimps. After head to the Volcanoes N/P for a thrilling Mt. Bisoke Hike. Later on you will cross to Uganda’s Bwindi forest for Gorilla Trekking then finalize with a walking safari in L. Mburo N/P and you will be dropped of at Entebbe Airport or hotel (if you are not departing immediately).

Day 1: Kigali City Tour

On this day, you will have your breakfast, and the company driver-guide will pick you up from the hotel and take you around the city. You will visit the Kigali Genocide Memorial. Here you will learn history about the massive killing of natives that took place in Rwanda. You will also visit some coffee markets.

Main Destination: Kigali City

Accommodation: Five to Five Hotel

Day 2: Transfer to Nyungwe Forest N/P -Afternoon Canopy Walk

Early in the morning after your breakfast, you will checkout of the hotel and embark on your journey to Nyungwe Forest National Park. This is a home to many bird species and chimpanzees in Rwanda. You will have an en-route meal. On arrival, you will go for the afternoon canopy walk where you will have a great view of the forest and also be able to watch very many bird species. You will later check-in to your lodge for refreshment as you wait to be served dinner.

Day 3: Chimpanzee Tracking and Transfer to Volcanoes N/P

After your breakfast in the morning, you will checkout of the accommodation and go to the starting point for chimpanzee tracking where you will be briefed on how the activity is going to be conducted. You will proceed with the tracking and once you find them you are given only one hour with the chimps to take pictures and videos.

You will have an en-route lunch meal then proceed to the Volcanoes N/P. On arrival you will check-in to your respective lodge for refreshment as you wait to be served dinner.

Day 4: Mount Bisoke Hike and Transfer to Bwindi Forest N/P

You will go for the Mount Bisoke hike in the morning and you will be escorted by a professional guide in that area who will lead you through al the paths. On return, you will cross the border to Uganda and travel to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest national park. This is a home over half the the total world’s mountain gorilla population. You will check-in to your lodge for refreshment as you wait to be served dinner.

Day 5: Gorilla Trekking 

Early morning after breakfast, the guide will lead you to the briefing point of the sector you are to track the gorillas from. Here you will be given guidelines to follow while on a gorilla trek, then you will head out to the forest and start locating the gorillas. When you find them, you are permitted only one hour with them to take pictures and videos and then you will leave the forest.

Day 6: Transfer to the Airport

After having breakfast, we shall set off for our departures to Entebbe International Airport via Mbarara and we shall check out also the Kayabwe Equator point for a photography moment and later to the airport for departures.
